Central Texas Renaissance Faire
in Camelot Village
The patrons through the gates seemed to enjoy themselves, except for the heat. So with our first year behind us and we learned a lot from our vendors and participants.
Camelot Council Corporation will present two Faires in 2009. Central Texas Renaissance Spring Faire is February 7-8, 14-15, and 21-22 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Central Texas Renaissance Summer Faire is June 6-7 and 13-14 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let us know as we're glad to hear from you.
The Central Texas Renaissance Faire is a family oriented venue with interesting things for all ages to partake of. There will be Crafters hawking their wares, Games of skill to bring out the best in all of us. Observe the battles of live steel presented by the Ampguard. Watch as Damsels in distress are rescued. Brave Knights demonstrate their jousting skills to win favors from their chosen ladies.
February 11 is a special day for us - It's School Day! A day when school classes can come out and see what goes on at our Faire. Vendors will be on hand, Classes will held on Heraldry, how to speak the King's English and the Midieval and Renaissance periods. Each child gets a free set of 5 arrows at the Sherwood Forest Archery Booth. Lunch of either chicken legs, sausage or hotdogs and chips with trimmings will be served at noon. Each child can make either a small sand art bottle or/and a bracelet. All this for only $7.00 per child. One chaperone per seven children gets in free. Extra chaperones can attend for $10.00 each. The chaperones are responsible for the behavior of their charges.
So accompany us back to the days of Knighthood, Magic, Chivalry, and King Arthur in the Village of Camelot. You never know who might make an appearance. Perhaps Robin Hood will show off his prowess in archery. Demonstrations of the beginning of jousting will astound you.
